In this Sheesh Mahal inspired gota tapestry, Mosaic patterns are embroidered using silver and golden gota. Plastic mirrors are being used along with a few real mirrors to keep the tapestry light weighed.
Sheesh Mahal (The Palace of Mirrors) is the most decorated and special part of Dewaan-e-khaas in Amber fort, India. Another Sheesh Mahal is also situated in Lahore fort, Pakistan. It is decorated by patterned mosaics, colored glass and mirrors from floor to ceiling creating a palace of unbelievable beauty.
The beauty of this palace lies in the fact that even if a petite ray of light enters it, it naturally lights up the whole palace while reflecting in all the other mirrors. Forming unbelievably magnificent patterns, thousands of tiny mirrors planted on the walls, lend this place a splendid touch.
