This exquisite tapestry poignantly honors the tragic story of Bibi Sakina (A.S.), the most beloved four-year-old daughter of Imam Husayn (A.S.), the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who was martyred in the aftermath of the Karbala event.
This tapestry is embroidered on ice blue silk, symbolizing water, which reflects her thirst during her final moments. Chains of the dungeon signify the harsh captivity she endured, while a tiny candle represents her enduring hope and light amidst the darkness. Her hoop earrings are embroidered in golden with a pearl droplet, symbolizing the earrings snatched from her by Yazid’s forces. In the center, Bibi Sakina’s name is embroidered in gold.
Maula Abbas (A.S.), who went to fetch water for his beloved sister and was martyred, is symbolized by the silver moon. The moon, known as ‘Qamar Bani Hashim’, drips water onto Bibi Sakina’s shrine, trying to fulfill her thirst. The water gives rise to water lilies, symbolizing Bibi Sakina’s purity and innocence.
Her Majesty’s shrine is protected within the name of Allah and Panjetan Pak, bordered with fringe, encapsulating the sanctity and reverence of this heartfelt tribute.
