In this handcrafted Mandana inspired tapestry, the two large circles embroidered at two corners revolving counter-clockwise warding off the negative energies from home and attracting the divine blessings represented by a small clockwise revolving circle in the center along with two paan leaves protected by various layers of intricately designed borders.
Mandana is the tribal decorative folk art of Rajasthan, India. People believed that Mandana have spiritual powers to protect home from evil energy and attract positivity and prosperity. It is drawn on festive occasions on the walls and floors using cow dung with red ocher for base and chalk powder to draw intricate motifs and border designs. The Rajasthani women possess skill for developing designs of perfect symmetry and accuracy. Paintings like these are also called Mandana in most of the parts of Nepal.
